Patrick D. Maguire, MD, CFA is the founder and managing principal of Maguire Investment Management, LLC.
Following his residency in radiation oncology at Duke University Medical Center, Dr. Maguire spent twenty-five years caring for people diagnosed with cancer in coastal North Carolina (NC). He published many peer-reviewed scientific articles in the field of oncology and was the principal investigator of two multi-million dollar grants from the National Cancer Institute to improve cancer care outcomes for underserved populations in Southeastern NC.
Dr. Maguire’s business experience includes being a co-owner and the managing partner of Coastal Carolina Radiation Oncology in Wilmington, NC for many years. He was a co-founder of South Atlantic Radiation Oncology in Supply, NC. While practicing full-time, he pursued his Master of Finance degree and also earned the right to utilize the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation (https://www.cfainstitute.org/employers/hire).
Dr. Maguire served on the founding board and investment committee of the $1.25 billion New Hanover Community Endowment (NHCE) for four years, utilizing his investment knowledge to benefit the community. During his tenure, NHCE committed more than $100 million to local projects for the public good.
While he enjoys adventure travel, Patrick's life is deeply rooted in the coastal Carolinas. Whether he’s navigating the Intracoastal Waterway in Wilmington with his family and close friends, training for an endurance event, or discovering new restaurants in Charleston with his wife, Patrick embraces the beauty and vibrant community of the Cape Fear and Low Country regions.
